Civic Trust Awards
Established in 1959, the Civic Trust Awards are one of the most prestigious in Europe and the only Awards scheme that recognises outstanding architecture, urban design, landscape and public art which engage with and improve the quality of life for our local communities.
George Clarke was recently appointed as a Patron of the Awards and his remit is to raise awareness of the scheme to the general public and to encourage further community participation.

Would you like to apply?
The Civic Trust Awards predominantly receives entries from Architects, Developers, Clients and Local Authorities with over 450 projects submitted each year.
However, we also like to encourage Registered Charities and Community Groups to submit applications and offer discounted entry fees.
The application round for the 2010 Civic Trust Awards scheme is now open and projects can be submitted on line via the website www.civictrustawards.org.uk
Application details and eligibility criteria can be found here.
Would you like to nominate a project?
From cafes and churches to housing and hospitals, the Awards scheme is open to any architectural, urban design, landscaping, public realm or public art project.
Members of the Public can nominate projects from their local area for submission.
- Has the project engaged with or improved the quality of life for your local community?
- Is the project visible to the public?
If so, please email relevant details of the scheme to info@civictrustawards.org.uk and we will endeavour to make contact with the designer to encourage them to apply.
Would you like to volunteer for the Awards?
Our volunteer assessment teams comprise an Architect Assessor, Inclusive Design Advisor, Local Authority Representative and a Local Community Advisor.
The Local Advisor is responsible for canvassing the local community for its collective opinion of the scheme entered into the Awards. The community for each scheme differs; it can be the scheme users, the people who pass it daily or simply people on the street.
The inclusion of local opinion into the assessing process and the local advisor is equally as important as all of the other members of the assessment teams.
Local Community Advisors are also required for our volunteer assessment teams. If you would like to lend your support as a volunteer please register your details here.
Would you like to offer your support?
As a not-for-profit organisation, the Civic Trust Awards is currently seeking financial assistance from Sponsors to support one of the Special Award Categories [hyperlink below] with additional opportunities also available to Commercial, Private or Government organisations.

The Awards also offer Corporate, Local Authority and Associate Membership packages which allow your Organisation to promote its products and services to applicants.
